My daughter and I were hiking at sunset in Saguaro National Park. She, having more energy, climbed high on the peaks. I, enjoying the unfolding palette of colors, paused inside one of the old CCC cabins to take my picture for the night. The picture is HDR. It is a combination of three frames, normal, +2 stops, and -2 stops.
Here are the stats of the basic shot:
Canon T4i; Mefoto travel tripod; 18-55 kit lens @ 18 mm; f/11; 1/10 sec.; ISO-100

Nice composition showing the graffiti inside and the apparently pristine out doors. I like this one a lot.

Very nice composition....very nice PP. Is this the park northeast of Tucson? Thanks for sharing.
I'm going to show my ignorance now. My daughter lives out there and knows her way around. It was only a few miles from the Arizona-Desert Museum just west of Tucson. There is a trail that climbs into the mountains and offers a good view of the setting sun. These cabins were made by the old Civilian Conservationi Corp (I think back around the 1930's). We visited the museum earlier in the day, then went hiking in before dark.
Here is a picture of what the little stone shelters look like. They have a small stone shelf for benches and a small stone table. The can house perhaps 3 or 4 people without being too crowded. They were scattered along the trail.
Absolutely stunning, jrkirkham!
I guess I was born out-of-fashion, but to me those fine pictures would look so much better with all the graffiti. I for one would like to view what has been called "human nature" as being something better than that. Even so, I think your photos are very pretty. -Ed
Very nice image showing the foreground and distance.
I meant to say without all the graffiti, not with it. 'Sorry! Still, lovely photos. Ed
