For those of us who enjoy shooting flowers, Blenheim Orange has provided some excellent tips on how to enhance the quality of our photography:
1. Consider the light: cloudy skies, especially after a rain, instead of the harsh contrasts of mid-day sun. Try backlighting! Diffusers, off-camera flash and reflectors can all be of benefit. Also, be mindful of potential motion blur from wind.
2. Select a shallow depth of field to isolate your subject. Look for uncluttered backgrounds. Choose your focal point carefully.
3. Look for unique perspectives and compositions. Shoot while sitting or lying on the ground instead of pointing the camera down.
