I know this has been covered in the past, but I'm sort of new to this forum.
I have downloaded EOSINFO but it continues to tell me there is no camera attached.
What am I doing wrong?
Very important, as the Mean women i married won't let me buy the 5dsr until I sell this body!!

Ben... I can't answer the technical question, but I'm curious. How many Mean Women did you marry? ; - ]
Search the web to find the shutter actuation of any camera.
This topic comes time and time again and the answer is always: Check using the web for method (take a picture, find a good proprietary EXIF reader and you see everything you need, down to the camera serial number.

I never could get that to work either. Frustrated I purchased Dire Studios Shutter Count for Canon for 3 or 4 bucks lifetime. Love it!

fORGET IT.... THE MEAN WOMAN IS IN CHARGE.
there is no online shutter count that works for Canon. Everybody who tells you they use one is full of BS up to their brown eyes. Perhaps up to their hairline.
The only way I have ever gotten an accurate shutter count on a Canon is from the Canon Service Center in Irvine Ca. They charge either $30 or $40 to give accurate shutter count. out and back a week.
The MEAN woman rules on this. Otherwise..... guess what!!! No new camera. That's OK you didn't know that much about it anyway? (you didn't know you can't get a shutter count from anyone other than Canon.)
I'm just tellin' ya!!!

Yep, a manual log monthly on the first of the month that I update with Shutter Count for a 5D MKII & 7D MKII . It seems to work just fine for me, and if you don't like it you can kiss my ass Mr. Pshaw!

Do you use a Mac? I purchased an app off of iTunes called ShutterCount and I plug the cord from camera to usb and it will give me an updated shutter count. I think the cost was $3.99 or so for the app.
Just looked it up and the app is $2.99.

How much do you sell your body for? And how many times a day?

Yep, and you also don't know Jack Sh*t either, but that doesn't stop many people expressing fallacious opinions. Shutter count for Canon is pretty easy to find, but it may take a small amount of intelligence to find and use the available tools. Doesn't take $30 or $40 or a week if you know what you are doing!

You need to tell us exactly what you have done. Downloading any app doesn't help if you don't use it properly. You have to tell us what you are doing, not just wrong, but anything you have done that did not work like you thought it should.

Except that doesn't seem to work for Canon, Ron. Perhaps some of us live in a different and larger world than you do. Finding the information isn't that hard, but if Canon doesn't put it in the EXIF data, how would your method work, exactly?
