It actually turns out that there is evidence that the Hillary 2008 capaign did indeed spread the birther claim. Just google -Hillary birther-. Take a look at the evidence. Therefore Trump had plenty of evidence behind his claim. You may disagree with the evidence but Trump's claim has a basis in reality.
Lol Trump done ate those words. An fessed up. You 3 dollar bill short as always.

I guess you did not google Hillary Birther. If you did you will find the basis in reality.

Lol yuh behind times Trump confessed Hillary did not birther. Shit goway dude.
All objective fact checkers have debunked Clinton or the campaign having anything to do with it. A few right wingnut propaganda sites still publish it.
Further, even if she had a small role in the origin (which she does not seem to have), Donald still became one of the champs of the birthers, continuing even as recently as this year to make allusions to BO's foreign birth....he went batshit crazy with it.

Just who appointed you or anyone else for that matter to decide which outlet is reputable and which is not about the Clinton/Birther story? There are plenty of news outlets of all political leanings reporting the story that someone in the Clinton Campaign started it. What adds fuel to this fire and story is that in 2007 and 2008 people in the Clinton campaign were fired for doing exactly that.
Just because Trump has admitted his view that Obama was born in the U.S. and ended his part in the controversy does not in any way absolve the Clinton campaign from their involvement. If they had any.
People can make up their own mind but it is not up to you or any one else participating here to decide who is reputable and who is not. If that is YOUR profession then that can add weight. If it is let us know. But if it is not, you are like anyone else and really have no idea.

The weird thing about the entire birther movement is that both sides were arguing about the wrong thing that disqualifies Obama from being president.
He went to grade school in Indonesia. At the time it was illegal for U.S. citizens to attend public school in Indonesia. Therefore he either was born outside of the U.S. which is generally considered to not be true (although interestingly only 80% of democrats in the latest poll believe that he was born in the U.S.A.) or if he was born in the U.S. then his father renounce his citizenship in order to enroll him in school.
That means that the argument should have been that no matter which choice, A or B is the truth either way he isn't a legal citizen of the U.S. If he were he could not have attended school where he did. That has always been the argument that should have been used. However, at this point in time it is a moot point as what's done is done and should have been dropped a long time ago.
It really doesn't matter who is right in the current argument about who started it. This argument isn't going to change any thing, so why don't we just move along and go on to the next argument.

They would rather have something they can distract with, than persue something that maybe solid. Distraction is a valuable tool in politics..

Hmmm, however, no parent can renounce a minor's citizenship. That is US law.
The whole Obama gave up US citizenship while in Indonesia is yet another far rightwing myth. There is some inconclusive evidence that the step father may have adopted him, there is some somewhat conclusive evidence his step father claimed on paper that Obama was an Indonesian citizen. Does not make it so though.
Fact is, only Obama could renounce his US citizenship, after reaching the age of majority. Indonesian laws are not germane in any way.
The right likes to claim Obama was schooled on Islam while in madrasses in Indonesia.
Actually he attended Catholic school his first two years there, and a prestigious public school his second two years there. He was only there from age 6 to 10. Which throws a wrinkle on the adoption claim, since adoption is only legal under Indonesian law up to age 5...
