Nope. She is covering the event and using the smartphone is the fastest way to post images on the different social media sites like Facebook, Instagram and the like. Why would she be metering when the cameras have a light meter...that's absurd.

If the cameras have WiFi, she could get a better picture out just about as fast. "Better" doesn't just refer to IQ - my experience is that the greatest weakness of a smart phone camera is its fixed focal length.

One of the biggest complaints about DSLRs is that they do not have WiFi and the BIG manufacturers have been incredibly stubborn about implementing it. Canon just recently finally caught on. Nikon? Still waiting.

I was making a joke. So, I guess what looks like a can of snuff in her pocket is actually a lens cap?

The recently released Pentax K-70 has WiFi - in fact, first awareness of this model was when it's WiFi was registered with a Korean agency. The camera itself is too new to know much about how the WiFi works. I wasn't aware this was a new feature, that Pentax wasn't just playing catch-up.

All three of my micro four thirds cameras have some sort of wifi. I have apps for all three of them in my smart phone.

Hasn't made anything easier for me at all.

But using micro four thirds certainly has.

Actually, I believe those are Canon's around her neck, so,obviously they are not working and she went with her backup.

She forgot her Pentax K-1 Camera (got stuck with the old Canon and Nikon stick-in-the-muds). You can guess it's an iPhone and not a Samsung Galaxy? LOL

Sorry, I just had to spin this in a different direction.

"...my friends all drive Canons, I must make a mens..."

Funny! Maybe she's separating her personal from her work shots.

Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, or any of the multitude of social media apps out there are so much easier to just post it through the phone.
