Anyone With Experience With Adobe's New Discounted Subscription?

I'm interested in hearing from anyone who was an existing Adobe Creative Cloud Photography Plan subscriber who took advantage of the discounted plan extension that was offered, first by Amazon, and now by B&H. The new offer allows you to prepay $90 (instead of the current $10/mo) and append that subscription to your existing plan. I had some concerns that this could get screwed up, so I would end up paying $90 thru B&H and still get charged $10/mo by Adobe. How did it work for you?

To illustrate my concern, first, here is a transcript of my chat with a B&H agent:

Case Number: 07997229

Question : I'm an existing subscriber to Adobe Creative Cloud for Photoshop & Lightroom. I understand that if I buy your current $89.99 offer, that will be applied to my existing subscription. How do I do that, and how do I know I won't continue to be billed by Adobe as they do now?

Nilson D : Hello Dan Umberger. My name is Nilson D and I will be glad to assist you. Please give me a few moments to begin working on your inquiry.
Nilson D : May I connect you to our Photo department for this inquiry?
Me : OK
Nilson D : One moment.
Jirel M : Hello. My name is Jirel. Please give me a minute to review your question.
Jirel M : I am not clear on where you see a price for $89.99. Can you send me a link?
Me : http://www.canonrumors.com/deal-adobe-creative-cloud-12-month-photography-plan-89-reg-119/
Jirel M : We do not have it for $89.99. We have it for $119.95 https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1124191-REG/adobe_65259312_creative_cloud_photography_plan.html/bi/2466/kbid/3296
Me : Yes, but there's a coupon code. I applied it on your site and got the $89.99 rate. But I haven't checked out yet, concerned this'll get screwed up.
Me : Your coupon code is "CCPHOTOPLAN"
Jirel M : Unfortunately, I am not aware of any coupon code. If you obtained that from a website other than ours, a trade show or a email blast from us then it isn't valid.
Me : You honored it.
Jirel M : OK. I am not sure how Adobe is going to handle your account & it would be advisable that you contact them directly at Tel: 800-833-6687
Me : Let me address this another way. If I bought your offer, regardless of price, and am an existing Adobe CC subscriber, how does what I buy cause my current monthly credit card charge to stop?
Jirel M : I do not know. You will need to address that question to Adobe directly
Me : OK. Thx.

Second, I did call Adobe. I got an agent in India on an awful, noisy VOIP call, and she was somewhat English-challenged, and obviously knew nothing about this offer. So Adobe and B&H haven't done a good job communicating about this offer to their own troops.

I would assume there's some mechanism somewhere where you give your Adobe account information and this synchs everything up. But, maybe not! Anybody have a good experience?

That sounds like the typical phone support in today's Global World.

Why worry, just give Adobe the money and then everything will be just wonderful.

I can understand your concern. I've run into that with magazine subscriptions, where I wound up getting two copies a month till the old subscription expired. If you are signed up with Adobe for $10/mo, I'm sure they will keep charging you. This offer would be perfect for a new subscriber. If it were me, the $30 savings for one year wouldn't be worth the trouble - and I'm sure there would be trouble.

I see Amazon is now listing it for $120 Keycard and $110 download, whatever that means, and B&H is $120, so this might be a moot discussion.

I agree with Jerry. I probably lose $30 worth of change from my pocket every year so it wouldn't be worth it to me either.

Interestingly, I just got an email from B&H offering the same deal. You go to the link at its regular price and use the promo code promo code CCPHOTOPLAN when checking out in order to get the discount.

That is the same information I received via email from B & H. I thought I'd pass it along.

Go through Adobe and get the photography bundle which includes both Lightroom and Photoshop. You'll be safe that way dealing directly. I've had it for a couple of years with no problems.

B&H has been advertising the "exclusive" rate for CC various places online. I think I recall a banner ad for it here on UHH earlier today, in fact.

I also got the email from B&H this morning. Here's the text from the email...

When l checked with Adobe about a discount offer I had received from a vendor after making a purchase, they told me l would have to close my account and open a new one. Not having any idea how that would affect me, I decided it was not worth the savings.

I believe the fine print of the Adobe plan says you can stop and restart the monthly plan any time. So my assumption would be that I buy the B&H deal and stop (not cancel) the monthly. Then, when the deal ends, just restart the monthly.

I purchased the 12 month pre paid membership from Amazon and received a activation card in the mail with the activation code which is a combination of 24 numbers and letters. I have a current plan and went to my account in the adobe cc app and entered the code and my plan was updated for another year, no problems at all.

I have the 12 month prepaid plan as well. (mine is almost up again) In the past, I just prepaid for another year, whenever I thought of it, and my account added another 12 months to the end of my term. In essence, if I had 11 months left, and bought another 12 month plan, it would tag it on the end, and I would have 23 months left on my plan.

I'm going to go to B&H, or somewhere to get my discounted subscription for next year, and possibly look into getting 2 if they allow it.

Just my 2 cents.

If that works, it appears to be a very good deal. Please let us know.
Thanks,
