affinity photo, is only available for Mac usage. But have promised availability for PC's this summer. 2 questions. When will the PC version be out, and does anyone have experience with this program. Thanks in advance

I use it and am very satisfied with it, it offers a wide range of powerful tools.
The one problem with it that I have is that there is no cataloging with it. Because of that, I use the Affinity tools as extensions in Photos for OS X and use Photos' cataloging. Hopefully after they are done with the Windows version they will come up with a cataloging function.

Boberic, I tried out Affinity while looking for alternatives to PhotoShop. I appreciated the program being designed specifically for the Mac. It seems the makers are taking the same care with the PC version. Last I checked I think the PC version is due this fall. For best info and quick response directly from Affinity contact them through the Facebook page. I had questions about adding HDR capability. They got back to me within 24 hours with a very comprehensive answer.

i have affinity and find it to be pretty darn good and especially for the price of 50 bucks and use it often...it is similar to photoshop elements but a bit easier to figure out..i do not like lightroom at all..find it very limited ..still use the aperture program for 90% of my editing..hope it doesn't give out on me..

Affinity is revered among Mac users who have it. It works well with Photos, the Apple iPhoto replacement.

At $50, it is a steal!

Hopefully, the Windows version will be the same, or close to the same. I think there's a free beta version of it available for testing, if not now, very soon. (If you don't mind taking a few arrows in the back at your own risk, do a search for Affinity Photos Windows Beta and sign up.)

I just wish Thorsten Lemke's excellent Graphic Converter worked on Windows. It's a Mac app only, in development for over two decades, that is the Swiss Army Knife of image file format conversion. It is among the most useful and clever utilities I've ever used. Its slide show tool can be used as an image file sorter/cull editor...

Another cool Mac tool that also runs on Windows (and smart phones) is FOTOR. You can try a limited version for free, and upgrade through an in-app purchase to a pro version if you like.

Very basic image editing and special effects. I use it for fun personal images.

Hey Boberic, thanks for the heads up on "affinity...." I downloaded the 10-day trial...seems pretty good so far. As for price, if affinity is anywhere near ps well the price is worth everything. Again thanks for the heads-up.

What was their answer regarding HDR? Will they include it in the program?
