I took these shots up on Mt Figueroa Ca. Near Santa Barbara.
The first shot is of the small group of us that showed up on the Mountain and shot to the NE.
My equipment is on the left, Vince is in the middle and Geza on the right.
1. Tokina 16-28mm @ 16mm, 30 sec, ISO 2500.
And shot 2. to the SW at ISO 800.

Beautiful Craig!

Bazillion stars!

Vince better look out. It looks like a specter was haunting his telescope.

I hope you and Annette have a ball on the mountain this weekend!

Nice shots Craig.
Vince must be in witness protection. Someone edited your photo and blurred him out.
I really like your second shot. Well done Ironsides.

Thank you very much Sonny, I think I'll be going to the Mt
Thurs night alone to watch the Meteor Shower.
Not sure how to setup for DSLR photos on a tripod.
Any advice would be great. I couldn't get Vince to set still
for a photo. Vince is our local Jr College Astronomy and
Physics instructor.

Thanks Jim and I think Homeland Security was editing my shots.

Hey Gordon thank you.
I do wish someone could join me it's
supposed to be a real show at 200
meteors per hour.

Gordon helped me with mine. He can calculate the settings in his mind.
He recommended I use ISO 3200 with my lens (14 mm) and time (30 seconds).
It worked great. But I would have liked brighter stars.
I use an Intervalometer, 30 second exposure with a 5 second lag for storage and reset. (It may have been a 25/5 duration. 2 images per minute)
If I had more ISO options, I'd like to try something in between my 3200 and 6400 options.
I use my signature lazy man way. Set it and let it run all night. Then worry about what to do with it at home.
