Wondering how to correct this problem: I have a 4 month old iPhone SE. When I send photos taken on it to a non-Mac computer, they arrive upside down. I tried emailing them to myself (to my Mac), then forwarding the them on to the non-Mac. Still arrived upside down. Next I saved the photo to my Photos program on my Mac, then emailed them...no luck. Then I tried rotating the images to upside down on my Mac and sending them upside down. This time they arrived sideways. Help!

Turn the phone upside down before you send them. LOL. On the mac you can rotate them after they are imported; not a big deal and I'm sure you can do the same on a PC.

Or stand on your headwhen sending them--either way will work.

Leave some beer and snacks out for Murphy, he is upset with you for some reason.

Thanks for the "advice" (LOL). I will definitely try standing on my head (that's about the only thing I haven't tried)! Yes, Whitewolfowner, the recipient of the photos was able to download to Picasa and rotate. They arrive fine on my Mac. It's just one of those things that makes one scratch one's head. I never have this trouble with px taken with my other cameras, just the iPhone. Will ask at the Apple store next I am there.

Another in the long list of advantages to a Mac.

My aunt sent me a picture by e-mail and I replied that it was upside down. She replied to just print it out, then turn it over. Brilliant.

I have never heard of a "rotate on export" option, just make sure that box is unchecked

Seriously here. Is it possible that you are taking the photos upside down for the phone when you take them. Try urning the phone 180 degrees when taking your shots; it may correct the problem.

After taking the picture with your iPhone go into edit. Go into cropping and rotate the picture to the way you want it save and click done. That might work!

When you make the changes on your computer, do you save them before sending? I had a similar situation a few years ago, but it involved someone sending me pictures - maybe from an iPhone.

EDIT: It looks like it's Apple's fault.

I am sure they would be the right way up here in the "land down under "!

They were probably taken "Upside Down". My Samsung I-Pad did the same thing to me. I rotated the pad and was taking upside down video. What I saw on the screen was right side up as I was videoing. So, the I-Pad knew it was upside down and didn't tell me. I guess it is for those times when you really do want to take images upside down but still would like to see it right side up as you take them. There probably should be an indication shown on the screen that it's upside down. The work around was simple - I know that the power button is on top - now I don't have any problems.

Are your 'portrait mode' pix inverted, too - or just the 'landscape' pix?
