I haven't been to the railroad museum in a long time. Even tho I only live a short distant from it. It was great to see all these old trains again.

Great shots of the past when people travelled by train nationwide. Amtrak today will never recapture those precious moments. Thanks for sharing.

1st one. Is that a 2-10-4?
I had to look on that brochure I got and it says Duluth, Missabe & Iron Range #506 - 2-10-2 Santa Fe Type. In 1919 the DM&IR turned to this design to move its iron ore traffic. New, #506 cost $56,795.00 and hauled 100 50 ton ore cars.
A most interesting series of photographs.
You should go more often.
Well taken.

I never went to the museum, always putting it off for another day. Now I'm in Florida & will probably never get there.
Your photos are excellent, and I'd like to see more.
Thank you.

Very nice. It's always fascinated me how people can build such things. It's common place of course but still, think of the months, perhaps years, of labor to get one of these huge things to run... amazing.
