Mama Doe with Triplets

I have seen a doe with 1 fawn or 2 fawns, but never 3. Everyone looks healthy and happy as they were romping through my yard. This was the only photo I could get with all 4 together.

A doe with triplets is fairly rare. It is a sign that the doe isn't under pressure and that she is getting plenty to eat. The term, "Nature takes care of it's own" certainly applies here. Thanks for posting a great photo.

Here in northern Nevada the Mule Deer have a 15 to 20 percent chance of having triplets. Twins are the most common.

Come to think of it, we had a very mild winter here in the Northeast. Probably made it a lot easier for her.
