I saw today where another hogger posted a hummingbird with a black background. Love those shots and have posted a couple before myself. Then I remember I recently took a couple of a hummer with a white background, or, as white as I could make it in PP. Second shot with not nearly as white a background...tried to go back and fix that and couldn't. Bummer.
These are the same hummer (I think), shot against the taupe colored siding of my home in the morning sun. Shot with Canon 7dII with my 100-400L (1st version) at these settings: 1600 ISO, 400mm, f7.1, and 1/1250 shutter and processed in LR4.
Enjoy!
Excellent catches !!! Thank you for sharing. Shang

Redone in CC 2015.5 using magic wand selection tool and fill tool. Working time less than 5 minutes, but you posted a very good image to do this.
Your not quite white back ground changed to black

Great shots!!! I do like the black background as, to my eyes, it makes the bird's colors stand out more.
Excellent captures, mrova!
