Subject: Camera - Incredible!

A long time ago here on UHH people were arguing about the despised green button. I remarked that full automatic should be a button once pressed lets you throw the camera into the air and it takes multiple shots on the way down. It seems like a prophesy now.

If you have seen this ignore it. I did not as I never seem to see all there is to see. This will interest you ….. it’s a bit like a drone, but in a slightly different way. What an amazing invention and not too expensive. I am sure everyone will be getting one soon …

America's new toy!! This is something you haven't seen before. Short video!!

Throw and Shoot Camera.

20 minutes of overhead tracking photography. Just throw it into the air
They are selling at $699.00. Amazing what there is on the horizon.

Golfers, can just throw this camera into the air before you tee-off, and
it will record ALL of your great shots.

This technology is bordering on science fiction. It will revolutionize
the movie and TV industry and with this equipment, home videos will be
more fun to watch.

Lily is the world's first throw-and-shoot camera. It lets anyone create
cinematic footage previously reserved for professional filmmakers.
Lily is waterproof, ultra-portable, and shoots stunning HD pictures and
videos.

You have got to be kidding me. Just watched the video and it is a great idea whose time has come. Now have a bad case of the "I want that."

It is going to be expensive when the batteries fail. Throw-And-Shoot will invite some observers to take up "high tech" skeet shooting.

Now why didn't I think of that; the next generation of the Go Pro. Nothing is sacred any more; there will be one over our heads every where we go. The government will love this for violating our privacy.

Exactly one year ago yesterday: http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-309985-1.html
I haven't seen one in use, but then I must admit, I haven't been going places much either.

This one snuck up to me as well so when it came to my attention I went to Amazon.com and plugged in "lily drone"
By George there are dozens of them available.
Many good comments. I agree this will totally revamp the movie industry and open up unimaginable opportunities.
Of course some people still feel that electricity should have been banned etc. they will have a knip fit with this.
I am waiting to hear from the drone meister though, where is he?

You get an A+ for memory. I was in Ecuador with limited internet access at that time and missed it.

Having flown "drones" for just over a year I'll say the Lily looks interesting but not as my main aircraft. From the video it seems to be just a "follow me" aircraft. Great for some applications but limited. I'm on my second DJI Phantom after losing my first one. It apparently went down in a lake. Maybe the Lily has more ability than I'm seeing but with my current drone (Phantom P3A) I can get out about a mile and half. I'm thinking about doing modifications to give me a longer range but a mile is pretty good. The biggest limitation with drones right now is flying time. I get about 25 minutes max. I have my software set to kick in the RTH (return to home) feature when the battery reaches 20%. It'll automatically come home based on the GPS coordinates of where I took off. My RTH altitude is set to 250 ft. to avoid trees, power lines, etc. As with any hobby there are idiots who fly near airports or crash on the lawn of White House. People like that give the hobby a black eye. Shooting stills and video from above gives an entirely new perspective to photography. Here's a sample taken at about 100 ft. over the middle of a river.
