Additional Points of Interest

2 new points of interest on the sun today.
1: Is the small group of Sunspots in the upper left.
They could grow to become much larger, we'll see tomorrow.
2: Is a small White Spot in the lower right. Not sure what it will do in the future.
I shot the sun with my Ha converted D600 Camera as ordered by Sonny.
Shots turned out really well but I still am not able to get any Flares like Jim is able to get with his Solar Scope. Darn :( :(
Celestron 9.25" SCT Scope, Nikon D600 Hydrogen-alpha converted Camera. No Guiding.
f/10, 2400mm, 1/100 sec, ISO 50.

Requested. Not ordered.

Beautiful Craig!

If you have the time, check out my shot of the Sun I got.
Take a look at the EXIF Data and the time of our shots. :-o
(If that is right (?) )

I thought mine was upside down. ? :?:

My Ha7nm is still locked up in my filter wheel. I have to dismantle to free it. :?
And not using the zoom eyepiece as yet.

Thank you very much for looking in Sonny.
I sometimes use a hand towel as a hood and the reading glasses.

PS: Only 56 minutes apart on our shots, what an omen.

I was out trying it to see if I could focus at all. I aimed at a tall tree about 150 yards away and got it in focus.
Encouraged, I came in and got my Badder mask and tried to find the sun.
I finally did, when I flipped the mirror the correct way. :-o
But couldn't get focus. So I yanked the CCD/flip mirror rig, and quickly assembled the DSLR and equipment.
A bit of focusing and got half a dozen shots manually pushing the button.
Then gathered up everything and brought it in for a look in the shade. :)
Maybe tonight I can try some night shots and begin getting dialed in. I've found threads for ways to put things together by going around the bush, if the zoom eyepiece can work for me. Jim has his working and I can poke mine together the same way now with my adapters.
But I'm glad I made some progress.

BTW, our almost 3 YO Grand Daughter will love your "Pink" Suns. She is just crazy about Pink!
And toe-mottoes. We say tomato, she says toe-mottoes.

PS: Jim is using his zoom eyepiece, too.

I'm going to try that when I have the time. If I can get the focus...

Good luck tonight Sonny can't wait to see your results.
If the wind dies down a little I'll join you.
Moon doesn't come up till 10:05.
Mazageen for Magazine was our family favorite.

Nice shots Craig.
The small spots will likely remain small. I seldom see spots grow as they rotate around.
I think that the whitish area is a depression or it least that's what they look like to me . I see them from time to time and good focus really helps.
Well done Ironsides..
;)

Ironsides that's a great one. Thank you very much Jim for the nice comment.
I am still thoroughly impressed with your shots of the Sun Flares.
