Re-Consideration for Contest

By popular request, I removed the questionable objects from in front of the bird.

I don't normally do much in PP other than lighting.
Further comments are welcome.

Oh yeah! Wow .. you are much better at pp than me. :-) I like it. I do love a shot with an animal in deep grasses peeking out. The eyes have got to be sharp in that instance, but I think it works because it's a case where the viewer has to work to find the payoff. This little bird is different. It's the subject plain as day, just a few little strands of grass don't enhance .. they distract. Mushroom shooters are one of the biggest offenders with this distraction. You did a nice job, BigBear and I hope you do well. You've got a nicely composed subject with great detail and color. I like the dark background.

I like the simplicity of the composition. Very nice contrast & tone.
I am puzzled but the dark spot on top of his head - perhaps he was missing a feather?
