I shoot a lot of macro (insects) and one of my favorite places to go is the Drake Hill Flower Bridge ( http://www.simsbury-ct.gov/culture-parks-recreation/pages/the-old-drake-hill-flower-bridge ) in my town. I had been there about 10 minutes when I heard a buzzing noise and looked up. About 3 feet above my head was a drone. It went up and down and back and forth for about 15 minutes. I don't know why, but it made me very uncomfortable and I got in my car before the drone was finished. Has anyone else had a drone film them. To me it was creepy, not knowing who was filming.

Play like a chimp? Grab a ten foot twig and poke at it! Who knows, it may have been modified to fire a gun. Are drones even allowed in government parks? If it lands in the water, even better!

Thats what they make drone ammo for.

One in Boise last weekend held up the launch of ghe balloon festival. Idiots seem particularly attracted to them.one crashed his into Grsnd Prismatic Spring in Yellowstone a couple of years ago. I stopped a couple of them from launching one in Zion last November...over a buch of hikers. I should have ratted them out to the ranger.

No it's not legal to fly in National Parks. It's also a very dangerous practice to fly within 300 feet of people other then OP.

As an RC operator, I wish you did knock is drone out of the Sky.
And then driven over it with your car.

I wish I had now, but at the time, I was just so surprised to first hear the annoying buzz (thought it was a huge bee) and it took me a while to figure out what it was.

My understanding is that it is illegal to shoot a drone down with a firearm. However, I don't think that if you knock it out of the sky with a big stick or baseball bat, you would be charged.
Does anyone know if the drone's pilot can see video "real time" from the craft?
If not, just hide the evidence when they come looking for it! :)

Some Drones do have what is Called FPV First Person View. There are several ways this is done, with an IPAD (smart phone) or a heads up display like googles the OP wears. He can also display it on a monitor, depending on how he routs the video feed.

FPV can be quite fun, but it should be done in and environment that is safe. As you see in this video the OP is sitting on his porch with googles, Not a soul was around. I don't think flying threw the living room is a sound idea. But it's his living room. LOL.

I doubt it illegal to shoot one down. The owner might sue for civil damages in small claims court, though.

Yes, they were made illegal in National Parks after the idiot crashed one into Grand Prismatic spring in Yellowstone. The guys I stopped weren't Americans and may not have been able to read the warnings. I made it clear to them.

California is seeking to make it illegal to fly them below 300 ft. over private property: a peeping Tom thing. Strictly speaking if they are filming I suspect most state's peeping Tom laws would find them guilty.

It may not be specifically illegal to shoot down a drone, but it may be illegal to discharge a weapon under certain circumstances, so that may create a few problems...

I didn't get the full article on the new CA law but think it may have said something about concerns Re. FAA licensed commercial use also.

I didn't think non- commercial use was regulated yet.

Commercial as you know is a whole new ball game, some of the people I knew that did commercial have given it up because of the fees and all the BS they had to go threw. I believe allot of them are doing wire now. Suspended over the shot with a trolley kind of thing. There are a few left but with insurance and all I think you will see the only flying is government and locale police. The police have been authorized to have stun guns on them, none lethal .
