Went to the Columbia County fairgrounds in nearby Chatham, NY last night to take some shots of the midway being setup for today's opening. Went with a friend who is a far more experienced photographer then I am. Normally I have usually shot in low light using a large aperture, high ISO combo, with or without a tripod. Never used Live View. He showed me what can be done with a tripod, small aperture, and low ISO using Live View and full manual settings, instead of my usual Av. I like the results. I learned that you don't necessarily need a fast lens or high ISO to get interesting results.
All shot at f/10, ISO 100 with a Canon 6D, EF 35mm f/1.4 L and a tripod.
Unprocessed, except in-camera, since they are JPEG.
They are nice looking low light shots...thanks for sharing.
Very enjoyable series. You caught the energy and bright colors of the place.
Great shots, love the colors! Although now I'm hungry for Fried Dough!

The fairgrounds after everyone has left, neat approach.
