Found a Species Hypercompe scribonia - Giant Leopard Moth - Hodges#8146 on the hill out behind mu house while walking the dog & also found a male Carpenter Bee just resting on a wide blade of grass.... I brought the moth in & got a few more images of it. It didn't even attempt to fly off....
wonderful color accents on the moth
Thanks Ron !! First images of this moth for me...I like it when that happens.

Nice shots. I really like the bee. It's awfully late for carpenter bees to still be around. Nice find.
Both are well captured. Nice finds.

Thanks !! I was surprised by the bee as well. hey seem to disappear after the newborns come along. Normally all I see are Bumble Bees after that.

Thanks !.... As my wife says, I have a tendency to look off into the brush looking for insects while walking with her (she wasn't with me this time though)
The Leopard moth species in my area do not have turquoise coloring. Nice find!
Very nice shots, really like #1.
Outstanding! :D
