Today's gems (Leopard moth & Carpenter Bee) 08/26

Found a Species Hypercompe scribonia - Giant Leopard Moth - Hodges#8146 on the hill out behind mu house while walking the dog & also found a male Carpenter Bee just resting on a wide blade of grass.... I brought the moth in & got a few more images of it. It didn't even attempt to fly off....

Nice shots. I really like the bee. It's awfully late for carpenter bees to still be around. Nice find.

The Leopard moth species in my area do not have turquoise coloring. Nice find! :thumbup:
