I have a D800E that has decided it doesn't like compact flash cards. I get err on the screen. KEH will repair it for $200 flat rate. I'm using the SD card slot now.

Does anyone have any idea how much Nikon would charge?

Does KEH warranty their work?

I'd call Nikon and discuss the possible cost with them.

Sounds like you have a bent pin. Rick will get you fixed! Let us know what was causing the problem.

It may be a loose pin, but it's probably not a bent one. I left a CF card in the camera, turned it off turned it on and there it was working fine.

Through the Nikon repair site you can enter general information about your issue and they return an estimated cost of repair. I have found it to be pretty accurate.

It won't likely be a bent pin but rather a pin that has pushed back into the header plastic header block in which the pins are mounted. I replaced one on my D70 years ago (the header block) and it wasn't all that difficult as a DIY project but if the Camera is still under warranty I suggest using one of the Nikon approved service centers. It is an easy repair for a Camera technician.

200 bucks for an easy repair!

This is what inflation does folks!
How come our earnings failed to keep up with the shrinking "shiny"?

All I know I sent my 105 to Nikon for an autofocus issue. They were very helpful, fast, but they were expensive.....$400.00
