Sadly, my Trap door spider passed away yesterday. So, after making some modifications to the Velmex unislide, I ran a couple of quick stacks for the obituary.

He's still just as ugly!

Poor old man! Like humans, males often live shorter lives than their counterparts, usually only one season as adults, but traps may be longer lived? Females live several years as adults in virtually all the mygalomorphs, the suborder of tarantulas and relatives, and most take several years just to grow up, up to 7 or 8 years in some. I had a female trap for a couple of years 20 years ago, then gave it to the S.Diego. Nat.Hist. Museum where it died a year later.
