While out and about yesterday, I ran across some dragonflies and a bee.

There are railroad tracks about less than a city block's distance from my house and at this time of year there is a lot of action to be found there. This morning three young fox pups were wandering around there posing for my camera among the many Lupines growing near the tracks., This is also the area where snapping turtles lay their eggs each year. But this year a turtle's eggs won't stay buried long with these little foxes out and about throughout the day!
I hate mosquitoes! ouch! ouch!

Very sweet.... Sorry about the mosquitos

This sunken area in Rockefeller Center was used as an al fresco restaurant (in good weather in summer) or as an outdoor skating rink in winter (in sub-freezing temperatures). Pedestrians walking by at street level could gawk down at the diners or skaters. The bronze statue of Prometheus was backed by fountains, and was considered by some as the fourth most recognized American icon, behind the Lincoln statue, Mt. Rushmore, and the Statue of Liberty.

Richard, you must have an endless number of fabulous photos in your archives. You really need to assemble a book of your photos. I will buy the first copy!

This one is especially for Judy. Three weeks ago, I posted the vertical garden frame that my granddaughter and I built over the holiday weekend. Judy wanted to see it once it got going. Here it is, three weeks after planting. Beans, peas, spinach and two kinds of lettuce.

WOW! How neat is that, Ed!! Thanks for remembering!!
Got some tomatoes at either end ,too...You are all set!

I can't believe it's only been three weeks since we built the thing. If it works well, and it looks like it will, we'll build three more over the winter for next year.

They are hard to shoot with a short lens. You get too close and they fly away. Next time, I'll bring a longer lens.
