Spotted this one sitting quietly on a leaf of a small tree about chest high. It let me take a number of images of it, but seems I missed focus on most of them.... Guess the breeze was stronger than I thought. I didn't want to hold the lea as it would have flown off if I had. These are fairly small butterflies, but not as small as Eastern Tailed Blues...
Hairstreaks are so small, that shooting 1:1 or higher, provides such a narrow DoF, that I frequently cannot keep the entire wing within the plane. I tend to shoot a close-up (less than 1:1) and crop to macro proportions.
The fringed edge of the right (far) wing is in best focus.
