Practice is good! Keep at it.
I recommend that you:
1.) lower your ISO to 100, as all of your images appear over-exposed on my monitor;
2.) choose a more neutral-colored background, that will not effect your exposures & color saturation;
3.) select a shutter duration of 1/200-sec for speedlight captures.

Exif info of image #5:
Camera Model: Canon EOS REBEL T5i
Lens: 90mm
Image Date: 2015-05-19
Focal Length: 90mm
Aperture: ƒ/16.0
Exposure Time: 0.017 s (1/60-sec)
ISO equiv: 400
Exposure Bias: none
Metering Mode: Matrix
Exposure: Manual
Exposure Mode: Manual
White Balance: Auto
Flash Fired: Yes

I just got the soft lightbox and tilt shoe a couple of days ago, and the cord arrived today! So that should help the over-exposure problem.

As for 'choosing the background'... (gasp) ... does this mean I might actually have to *touch* one o' them thar critters?!
(I admit to committing justifiable homicide (bugicide?) after most indoor photo shoots.)

About your speedlight & softbox diffuser:
1.) Makes sure the internal white cloth diffuser is stretched from one side to the other, using the Velcro buttons;
2.) consider adding 6-inch "struts" to fully "inflate" your softbox: http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-184699-1.html#3163956 ;
3.) deploy speedlight Fresnel diffuser in front of speedlight lens;
4.) set speedlight to widest coverage (i.e. 24-mm lens);
5.) set speedlight to Manual output, starting at 1/8 power or so.

4) Thank you, thank you, for all the help. I really do appreciate it.
