assuming a lace wing larva shot at 5X

this was in the container I put the lacewing eggs in…………frustration personified……………one little critter that wouldn't stop moving and at 5X……….oiy…..handheld

Having played a bit already at that magnification I know how short the working distance is and the DoF is extremely shallow. Now add to that mix that you are doing these hand held and I am truly impressed. :thumbup:

I thank you and just a note about the constant roaming of small critters. I saw a utube video of someone drawing a little circle around a critter with a ball point pen. it was temporally penned in by the ink/off gassing or what ever. it would stay then eventually breach the line and it gave me the idea and thats what I did in this instance. then I got a little to close and it got stuck to the ink of the roller ball and well. :cry: it got roller balled :shock:

Lots of folks stick them on pins. An understandable mistake. The words pen & pin sound alike.
