What are the best books (or dvd's) about learning advanced macro photography?

I don't know about books, but you should read all of the posts Nikonian72 has placed at the head of this forum. Then post photos, ask questions, and view other posts. That will put you way ahead of the game.

I would agree. There's also nothing like a lot of practice. A lot!

i shoot macro just about every day.never read a book about it or watched a video.practice and post pics,thats all you have to do

There's likely more information here than you will ever be able to completely absorb. Especially when you consider all the links and links inside of links.
The most valuable resource I have found, is the people right here in the true macro section.
Books can quickly become outdated too.

There are a dozen first line macro shooters here on the forum, each with their own tweaks and tricks. Sometimes you have to yank their tails and read between the lines but there is a wealth of information right here if you keep your eyes open.
