Just needed to point the camera at something. This is the first 'something' that seemed interesting. It appears to have suffered a bit of damage to the right compound eye. I see this often in dragonflies.

Neat photos. I wonder what he did to his eye and how much it affects him. The injury looks like the end of something hit him. Maybe he flew into something. I like his antennae as well. They look like tweezers. The claws are really neat as gemlenz pointed out. Well done.

These guys, like dragonflies, are VERY strong fliers. It's almost a given that they will occasionally fly into things as they zip around thorough the underbrush. I actually think it might be difficult to find an adult dragonfly - unless it's VERY recently emerged - that doesn't have some small damage to one eye or the other.

Awsome shots! Never have I seen a Robber Fly with a white/yellowish fur coat like this. So far in Massachusetts I've only seen them all black.

Thanks Douglass. Yep. He's a big boy. I caught him early, before he had gotten to active. I wanted to get that frontal shot, showing the classic 'full beard', but when I moved in front, my shadow spooked it and it was gone in a flash.
