Just hatched cats

Some kind of tent caterpillar? The little one is about 7mm long.
The tent was covered with them but between the time I saw them & took the photo I had to fix a flat tire & most of them crawled off. No doubt to do a number on the apple tree.

Only temporarily. In the meantime, right after I took that photo, the thin plastic flange on the Opteka 36mm tube gave way & my lens & flash attachment fell off. Luckily no damage. I'll post (macro) photos of the flange later.
