Found & captured this large (10mm) ant while on the john doing my business in the middle of the night. (Good thing it was me who found it & not my wife). Took it outside & let it loose in an old ceramic pot that still had some soil in it. The 2nd insect (Unknown ID) I found on my privacy fence... Only about 3-4 mm long. 2nd image isn't sharp, but shows it a bit better...

You need a cleaner collection jar. Even the crane fly has little white stuff on it. :-) That happened to me too when I used an old pill bottle.

That's Pine pollen you see. I used a specimen jar from the Urologists office to house the ant, thus no pill residue. The pollen is covering everything around here right now.

That would explain it. Still better than cedar trees. That stuff comes off the tree like fog when the wind blows.

One of our local TV stations had a video on Facebook of a tree being cut down & you should have seen the pollen "cloud" from it.... Here are our pollen numbers from today
Total Pollen Count for 4/8/2015: 2256

Just found out that the 2nd insect is a termite, likely just shed it's wings.... Wish I would have known this sooner. I would have killed it...
