I was shooting some Lichen and spotted some movement out of the corner of my eye. It was this little jumper (approx. 2.5-3mm). She was very difficult to keep an eye on, very active, very tiny and in a tricky spot, which made it near impossible to get any shot at all. Then, I blinked and it was gone :|
I have never seen this one before and was pleasantly surprised at how pretty she is. Getting proper light on this one was very problematic. Thank goodness I shot in raw and was able to salvage a few less than perfect shots.
My spider guide says: Zebra Spider (Salticus palpalis)

Pretty in copper.
Her head is actually pearlescent/metallic. I was catching glimmers in my viewfinder as I chased her around. She was to small to see that with the naked eye, even the strips were barely visible.
But, yeah, copper bands for sure
Douglass, have you even seen one like this before?

the pearlescent/metallic is something i've never seen in a gazillion macro shots.
What a good find Bill and such a cutie. I looked it up on the computer and there are loads of images just like yours - well nearly as good as yours.
cutie for sure..........
Good lookin' spider Bill, I prefer the first image.
Number 1 is great! The Metallic colors are really hard to record.
