Helicon Remote vs. Camranger

I just bought Helicon Remote Pro. Obviously, I bought it for its focus stacking capability. But, with the Pro version, I also got Helicon Remote. I already own Camranger, which has a similar remote focus/triggering capability. Anyone care to opine on the relative merits of shooting a stack with Helicon Remote vs. Camranger? One point I'd note is that, as an iPad user, I can use Camranger in the field. I don't think there's currently an iPad app for Helicon, so I'm limited to using Helicon Focus from my laptop. Regards, Dan

I cannot comment on Camranger. I use Helicon Remote with my MacBook. I am considering other options for field stacks.

Check out Promote Control. it will do focus stacking and HDR. I have a refurbished unit that is easy to use. http://www.promotesystems.com
