The site below advertises a price of $59 for the next week. I already use Lightroom 4 but am wondering if this package offers anything new, better or easier for post processing?

I also use OnOne photosuite 8 sometimes but not too often.

I don't have a lot of time to all the researching so I thought I would ask here.

I bought it recently because it is very quick, and an easy learning curve. I hardly ever use LR5 or PSE11 anymore. I can't say if its organizer is any good because I don't use that part.

Absolutely, Paintshop Pro (PSP) X7 is well worth the $59.00. I use the Ultimate version myself. However, the only difference between X7 and X7 Ultimate is that the ultimate version also includes Athentech Perfectly Clear (plugin), Reallusion Face Filter 3 (stand alone program), and Corel's creative collection for Paintshop Pro. I very seldom ever use those additional items. The Ultimate version is presently available for $79.00. X7 is very smooth in operation, easy to use, pretty intuitive, and has so much to offer you might just forget about lightroom and PSE. If you search around the internet you might find several sites ranking Paintshop Pro X7 second only to Adobe Photoshop for photo processing. You would also find that PSP also uses a great many of the plugins like Topaz, NIK, AKVIS, Redfield, and more that were developed for Adobe Photoshop. There are many PSP users on the UHH and some of them do some awesome things with it. I am sure that you would be pleasantly happy with PSP X7. Good luck with whatever you choose to do, have fun, and have a GREAT DAY!

I bought the whole bundle well worth the $59 I spent for it considering you not only get Paintshop Pro X7 Ultimate and also Aftershot but many other plug-ins you would ordinarily pay for separately. Also a 2 year online reinstall if you should need it.

I believe the PaintShop Pro Bundle is not compatible with a MAC platform.

PSP has capabilities that are not available in LR, primarily in the area of layers. I find it a useful addition to LR as you can link to it from LR and if you use the standard Photoshop format (PSD) any edits will be viewable in LR. I have never cared for the organizer module since I use LR. I will probably move away from PSP when LR 6 comes out if Adobe still offers the $10/month deal for LR and Photoshop.

Look directly at Corel's site. I got an email for this package last week for $48 from Corel directly. You may also be able to go to Google and type in "Paintshop Pro discount code" and go to a website to get the code, put that into your Corel checkout cart and get even more discount.

Does it work with 16-bit images and how does it handle RAW? Does it downsize to 8-bits?

I don't know about the 8- and 16-bit questions, but the RAW is easy and I am very happy with it.

Perhaps someone else knows about this. As a comparison, PhotoShop Elements can work with RAW images and and do a few things in 16-bit mode, but as soon as you go to layers, you are working with 8-bit images.

The full featured PhotoShop does not have this restriction.

I would like to know if PaintShop Pro plays the same 8-bit swapping game.

Lightroom, on the other hand, works completely in 16-bits as long as you first give it 16-bit images. If you give it JPEGs, then you work in 8-bit. But it doesn't do layers.
