Is anyone using this small device? It’s about 2.75 inches square and 1/2 inch thick.
I am looking for a small wifi drive to backup images while on the road. This device has an SD card slot so images would go onto this small drive and not my IPad. The images on this device could be viewed on the IPad while not taking up space on the iPad.
Seems other external wifi hard drives are used by first downloading to a computer or IPad and then moving over to an exteranl HD. I know it is only 64GB but should be enough for my use. If the drive does fill the images can be transferred to a SanDisk flash drive freeing up space on the drive. My files will be raw from Nikon D7000 & D600.
My goal is to be able to view images on my IPad and delete bad/duplicate images. Should be much easier on the larger screen. When I returned home images would be transferred to my IMac.
Thanks, john

this is the first time I have heard of this! it looks very useful.
from the reviews I watched on you tube it seems you cant save the images from the card to the drive. but can save them to/from your mobil device. it seems you can save from your device to the drive, so if you wanted to take the time you might be able to save to your Ipad them back to the drive.
Also it appears that it does not support PDF format, incase that is important to you. but reading the support page it does support RAW.
I would like to have something like this for vacations also. I have a canon 7d with uses CF cards. I don't see anything like this for CF cards. I also have a rebel T2i that uses sd cards, I could take it instead them view my images on my wife's Ipad. this would eliminate the need to carry my laptop.
I think I will order one and try it. even if I don't use it Im sure my wife will. it would make it easier for her to backup her Ipad to sd cards. she won't used computers.
I am interested to see if others have used these.

Edit: I just ordered one from amazon, I will try it, we are going to Hawaii in March, I am hoping this will lighten our load.

Thanks Stableduck for info. I had done a lot of searching on Google but had not thought about YouTube. Still on the fence about ordering. Let me know how this works out for you.

I got the drive today, downloaded the app and it seems to be working fine for photos. the layout is a little confusing, it would help if they had a real instruction manuel. I also bought a 64 gig card to go along with it. the combo should give me 128gig of storage while on vacation.

Update; I have been playing around a little with the drive. it seems to work ok, a little slow displaying the thumbnails. but I just updated the firmware which is suppose to fix that.
When you want to connect to the drive you have to go to settings on your device (Ipad, Iphone, Android) change the wifi setting to the media drive. then you open the sandisk app. (which is a free download) changing the wifi from one to the other and back when you are done is somewhat of a hassle but not bad. from there it's pretty straight forward. you can chose between your Ipad or the media drive to view contents.
You "CAN NOT" save from the card to the drive. or from the drive to the card. you "CAN" go from the card to the Ipad. or from the Ipad to the card or the media drive.
I'm thinking as a work around I could download to the Ipad, then send them to the drive or the card then delete the images from the Ipad.
when connected to the computer it shows on my mac as 2 drives, one is the 64Gig card I put in it and one is the media drive. when connected it work like a regular drive you can copy/paste or drag and drop.
it make it easy for my wife to get the pictures she wants to have printed of the Ipad and on a card so she can take the card to costco for printing. that has been a hassle in the past.
we leave for the vacation tomorrow so we will see how it does on the trip.
