I'm posting this for Country. He/She was so disappointed in her bridge, and she says she's trying to work in manual. I wanted to show her what could be done with manual on the camera and the lens.
The most important thing about taking this pic, country, is that I got there at the right time of the day. Your settings don't matter if you don't have the right light.
ISO 100 - It's my default ISO :-)
F22 - but F16 and up may have worked too.
1 second exposure
Tripod is mandatory
Manual focus - get that first 3rd of the pic in focus in your view finder at the higher fstops, and the rest will fall into place. You will see it fall into place in your view finder.
Sun Rising on the Bridge
We've got until next Wednesday:-)
If the leaves last that long.
beautiful image--have always wanted to get to Itasca for the fall colors, but haven't made it yet!

Yes, I haven't either. This one was taken in July. :-)
Thank you for the kind comment.

Beautiful!! I try to use the lowest ISO I can. I guess it's a holdover from when I used film. The lowest ISO was always the best.

I use high ISO when I want a softer feeling image. But most of the time I shoot around 400.

Thank you, Luv. It's my understanding that you use 100 to get the best quality of photo, with the least amount of noise. You bump it up when absolutely necessary. That's how I work. For others, it may be different. That's why we have so many wonderfully different creations here at the hog.

I love this shot Sandra - the symmetry, the calm, the leading lines. I want to take the journey and see where this ends up. Thanks for sharing your vision and technique.

Thank you, Vicki. If you are ever going to be in Minnesota, let me know, and I will take you on a hike. :-) We can do some shooting together
