Ok, enough of the sunsets...well, just one more maybe. This is a shot that I've been waiting on for a few months. I knew it would be best near the equinox so the sun would be lined up with the openings through the barn. I don't usually do a building 'straight on', like to get a side in the view too but this time straight on works. This is the same location and about 30 minutes after the pic that I posted earlier today.
Some technical stuff...I took three shots at different exposure values, normal for my style, processing the three shots for a exposure blended HDR image. I did this process twice, 1st time for the sky to bring out the colors and to mute the fact that the sun was shining straight into the lens. 2nd pass I let the sky go wild but brought out the grass and front of the barn for foreground detail. Then laid 1st image over the 2nd, used an eraser brush to uncover the grass and barn front.
If you're a pixel peeper and say hey the barn isn't straight, hold on there. Straightening an image is always part of my work flow and in this case the old barn actually does lean just a bit. If you were to stretch a level across the roof eaves, you'll see that they are level or at least very near.
I really like this shot, good for you!

Spectacular shot. I'm not a big HDR fan but this one blew me away.

Thank you Linda, glad you like it!
Well done!!! Such a vivid, dramatic sky, and all the clouds draw your eye to the barn. Love seeing the rafters in the second level. And the sun glowing through the window--all your planning paid off. spectacular!
