I, for a variety of reasons, like to shoot film, as do a number of other folks on this website. However, for me at least, processing is an issue. There are plenty of 1 hour labs at places like Walgreens, Wal*Mart etc which do 35mm processing, but no "Professional" grade film processing labs anywhere near me, and none that do 120 film in house.

Being a picky sort of person I wanted better processing and needing a lab that did 120 film I set out on a search to find a quality lab to process my film. I posted messages on several photo forums I am a member of asking other photographers for their recommendations. I soon had more recommendations than I could manage in my head so I ended up creating an Excel spreadsheet to capture all the information collected.

The attached spreadsheet summarizes the data I collected. I did not include any info on printing services as all I am interested in is developing and scanning but all sources listed also provide printing services.

This is still a work in progress; I am still getting more recommendations so it will be updated from time to time. I hope this will be a help to some of my fellow film fanatics. For those of you who do not have Excel or do not have another compatible spreadsheet software I would suggest OpenOffice; it is free, I have used it myself, and it is Excel compatible.

Thanks for doing all that work, but unfortunately I was not able to download the Excel compatibility Pack. I'm not surprised as I have been having trouble with installs either from the internet or from my CD drive. I'm looking for my Windows 7 installation disk so I can have this corrected.

I was NEVER able to download the MS Compatibility pack for either Excel or Word to any of the four new Dell computers I bought less than a year ago. I think the Compatibility Pack is another MS scam. I'd suggest OpenOffice; its free, works great, and will probably download faster than the Compatibility Pack IF you could download it.

I tried that too and it didn't work. I have to find the Windows 7 installation disk and get my computer fixed. When installing from a CD, I get messages that 2 files are missing. And some internet installs will not go on either. I accidentally deleted ViewNX2 and couldn't install from the disk (2 files missing) and couldn't install from Nikon website (2 files missing). So I have a problem.

Bummer! Does it name the files? I have Windows 7, I could try sending them to you.

I'm stumped. I did a Windows file search and could find nothing about either a Windows Installer SDK or any .rtf files.

Thanks for trying. I hope it's not something inherent in the computer. It originally had Vista and I got tired of getting blown off the internet; the cable co. couldn't help me; told me to call Microsoft. I am not that computer savy so I just bought Windows 7 Prof. and took it to PCW computer for the install. I was able to back up my files and reinstall after I got the computer back. I was able to initially install Nikon View NX2 back in Nov. of 2012, so it's something that happened within 9 months of installation.

Maybe call PCW or take the computer to them and see if they can help. Might be something they can help you with over the phone.

Yeah, I think I'm going to have to try that route, but I really wish I could find the Windows 7 Operating Disk. I put it in a safe place and I guess it really was a safe place. LOL
