Yesterday, I was talking to the Head of the Camera Crew of the new
Mad Max movie; "Fury Road".
He told me they destroyed 26 x 5DM2s during filming in Namibia.

I WANTED TO CRY A RIVER !!!
WAAAAAAAAAAAH !!!!

But they only used Canon because no one else had the technology to match.
I cannot show the vehicles and actors.
Warner Bros. refused to let them film with drones with open-bladed rotors for safety.
But.... They can let the actors and others ride fast in unroadworthy
vehicles......
STUPID....

I find it very hard to believe that only Canon has the technology to supply the film crew.I would tend to believe the head of the section is a Canon man.

I am sure 26 5D Mark IIs and L Lenses are a drop in their budget. Canon may have even supplied them in concession for end of movie title and marketing rights.

Ok. I was watching a making of where the crew accidentally destroyed a $35,000 Hollywood digital camera. The director didn't seem too concerned and simply said... "oh well".

Well the truth of the matter is Canon came first and was years ahead of Nikon in the making of DSLR cameras for movie making. Now Nikon has caught up with D800 series camera, time will tell who win's out in the end? My money is on Canon!
