Again I am not a street photographer (no courage) I think this is again a very well executed shot, would also like to see it in monochrome, well I have actually, with increased contrast, add a grain effect and it is great, shall I post or will you

It does take a bit of nerve at first but you soon discover that you can become invisible ;-)

A couple of mono versions.

Go ahead and post yours.

Ok, just trying to emulate TriX film of the 60s

My first image was a (I hope) an approximation of Tri-X 400. The second was an attempt at a more sinister/ moody feel.

The second of the monochrome versions does it for me. All are fantastic but this one takes the prize!

I used to and still do use a MamiyaFlex C33 Pro twin lens camera which is great for photos like this as you can turn the camera sideways and look down at the focussing screen and most people are unaware what you are doing. Also a remote control in your hand and just let the camera dangle and click. A bit hit and miss but you will get some great shots!

I won't shoot homeless or poor folks out of respect, but I have to admit I do love seeing those photos. You do an excellent job of capturing the mood. It does make one think, and perhaps stir sympathy for the poverty and pain.

My Leica M9 is a great camera for this sort of work, silent, unobtrusive and to most people "old fashioned looking", so it's not as threatening as modern beeping and clacking mirror slapping DLSR's. But I do love my D700 too :-)
