Just think of the logistic questions that have to be solved.

1. Power plants to generate the power. The country probably has no-one to operate the plants. Do you see many large rivers to build power plants on ?

2. Power lines installed. The locals will steal the wires to hold their huts together continuously. Think of the lives lost in doing this.

3. Logistics of installing plugs in all the grass huts.

4. Logistics of where and how to stick directions on how to plug in appliances such as microwave ovens, blenders, toasters, hair dryers, coffee makers etc etc etc.

5. Large computer infrastructure on how to convert payments of goats, cattle etc for services.

6. Are you F##&#G KIDDING ME ?

No

But since you brought it up you are a racist! Redneck really don't care.

I personally don't like bigots or racists.

I hope you associate with people of like minds.

Tell me where do you buy your sheet and hood?

Thanks Sarge. I thought the first responses would tell me what a racist, uneducated, red-neck I is. I just see things the way they are. Where does this money come from? I thought we as a nation were flat out broke. Better take care of people here in the USA and the hell with the rest of the world.

Obummer phones?

That program is a continuation of a program that started back in the Reagan years.

Hmmmmm. I wonder how they hid it because I never saw it advertised on television until O'bummer came into the scene.

Yes. Brought to us by one of our greatest socialist presidents, Ronald Wilson Reagan.

Danilo, I am surprised. The president has presented many initiatives to help the folks in this country. Unfortunately, the GOP Congress has not passed them. For instance this is the first congress to not pass an infrastructure bill!

I get great feelings, and enjoy being generous and helping people with problems, when I can. I am only able to do these things after my personal obligations are taken care of.

I cannot hope to understand a person (President) who appears blind to the needs of his own constituency while lavishly spending their money elsewhere. He and I are, apparently, on different planets.

I really don't want to keep giving him money...he is NOT a wise spender!

Perhaps you should read the Constitution. It really is a small document (with index 45 pages long) and it will take the average person about 30 minutes to read and understand. It is written in very clear language.

As you become enlightened notice the 16th Amendment. It will prove very enlightening.

Who knows your knowledge of the laws of the land could even become broadened!

I'm still waiting for someone to show me where in the enumerated powers outlined in the constitution, that our government has the authority to tax us and then give our money to anyone, foreign or domestic.

While there is some debate as to the veracity of this attribution to congressman David Crockett, it is still a great lesson in how our government ought to work...

Man, I really hope this is sarcasm or someone needs to throw away that old geography book from the 1950s. I mean it's gotta be sarcasm.

Nathan Poe sure was right.

Perhaps you should start doing some research on what you hear on right wing radio and Faux News.

I almost got sucked into this discussion but based on some comments in a similar post, I did some checking. The $$ are coming from two sources: the Import-Export Bank and the U.S. Overseas Private Investment Corporation. I didn't vote for BHO and I don't drink much of the administration's Kool-aid (maybe a sip or two now and then), but it looks like this may be a worthwhile investment initiative that is not going to cost the American taxpayer anything.

The White House says Obama’s electricity initiative, dubbed “Power Africa,” symbolizes the type of cross-continent ventures the president seeks. Backed by $7 billion in U.S. investment, the power program will focus on expanding access to electricity in six African countries: Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Liberia, Nigeria and Tanzania.

Be sure their citizens are given Absentee Voting forms so they can help elect another Dim-ocrat in the next Presidential election.

Oooops, I clicked on the wrong comment to reply. That's what happens when you don't have your first boiler maker first thing in the morning.

Sarge69, I'll bet you were dropped on your head sometime when you were a baby. That is the only plausible excuse I can think of regarding some of your opinions.

If other peoples opinions are so disturbing to you, why do you continue to come here and read them? Just stay on the main photography forum and spare yourself the obvious aggravation. Nothing I read in the original post was disparaging to any race, it simply asked why we're spending billions of dollars in Africa, when we're so broke here at home. Hell, according to Obama, we can't afford to feed our troops 3 hot meals a day, but he can spend $100,000,000 for his little African vacation, and his power initiative that will cost 70 times more than that. Your typical intolerance for other peoples views show a very weak intellect.
