Great photos of an old workhorse - mid 1940's era Reo Speedwagon I think. What a great find. It looks like it could be a viable restoration project. Thank you for sharing Fred.

That’s what I’m thinking. A 4 wheel drive tractor that happens to have a bed. A tructor?

Getting to this valley was half the fun...roads swooping and swirling all over the place. Love it.

A beautiful scene. Looks like a peaceful place to be.

Absolutely. So very true. Dogs steal your heart when they come into your life and break it when they leave.

Terrific presentation, Richard, of one of the most unusual vehicles I've ever heard of or seen before. Thanks for sharing this.

Thank you for your encouraging comments Tom. It is a great example of early Australian automotive engineering ingenuity.

Great set, would love to see it operating. Was it gas or diesel?

Thank you for your comments Bultaco. Petrol engine with two spark plugs on fed by a magneto, the other by coil.

We have a few of that sort of thing here in NZ too, one not far from my home. Oh boy they were real men the drivers, hard to imagine what life was like in the day. Good job getting the images.

Thank you for your comments alawry. I agree that you had to be tough in the era these machines were built but maybe they were better than the alternatives - horses or bullocks.

With a top speed of 6 mph and fuel consumption of 1 imperial gallon per mile it may not be the most economical choice of shopping cart Allan.

Very nice. Like that someone still drives it for these events. Rite up there with comparison to the older aircraft at the air shows!

Thank you for your comments tcthome. I agree, it is encouraging to see machinery and aircraft from earlier years preserved for future generations to experience.
