These were a couple of quick snapshots of my new Grandson and my wife. There are 58 years between them. The Nikon Z9 has no problem finding eyes especially with the Z 105mm attached. I had the new "skin softening" feature active on the camera which seems to smooth the pores of the skin out. A bit more buttery IMHO. Anyone else try it since the firmware release?

Lovely wife, cute grandson. Although he looks like he’s trying to figure out what that thing is you’re pointing at him.

Excellent image, Tom. We’re glad you happened by when you did - the place may cave in any time now.

We've been having insane amounts of rain and my morning walks have been a little moist. It's still cleared up most days for an hour or so though, just enough to see some color before work.

Excellent!

Hi, Stan. Thanks for the visit,

I assume that you're coming down HWY. 19 E when you reach the Banner Elk Hwy in the Elk Park area...thats' the road to Banner Elk. It sounds like you've been turning right in " downtown " Banner Elk and going on down to Hwy.105 that can take you to Boone and Blowing Rock. Rather than turn right in Banner Elk, keep going straight...the Banner Elk Hwy. becomes the Balm Hwy. Just before you reach the little settlement of Matney, turn left on road # 1130 which will lead you to that beautiful valley.

A while back I stated in a post on UHH showing a view down a street that “street photography isn’t about the streets, it’s about what’s happening on the streets.” If there aren’t people out on the streets then nothing is happening (at least in my view). I like your image and how it depicts the details of the effect of time and neglect on the city but I would view it more as an abstract or city scene. Personally, I find it difficult to take photos of strangers as they go about their daily activities as I feel I’m being intrusive. I greatly admire those who can pull it off and capture those daily life activities with empathy and finesse.

Nice shot.

A suggestion for you - the hummers don’t care what color their sugar water is so make your own out of 1 part of sugar to 4 parts of water. Dye is not good for the birdies.

Lovely view and image, Tom. It’s reminiscent of Cades Cove. We sometimes drive through Banner Elk on our way to Blowing Rock but I don’t recall passing through that gorgeous valley. What highway/road runs through that lovely piece of real estate?

I’ve used Memphis Film Lab with good results. They will develop your film and return it cut or uncut if you like to do your own scans.

Nice image of the window, Joe. But I think a mysterious figure in the window would have exploited the image much better.
