We live in a condo community for the past 13 years. within 2 years of moving in, out TV needed a replacement. The distance from our chairs to the wall is approximately 10 feet. We purchased a 65 inch top of the line Samsung digital TV. Love it and so happy we went with the larger 65" rather than a 55" model.

Good luck!

Since Microsoft offers Windows 11 upgrade for free I think the computer makers paid them to do do.

That's business!! Is it any difference than new car models every year? I began with computers in 71' and bought my own in 85'. I used Dos then soon after, Windows 3.1. I've experienced most upgrades of Windows versions. I skipped 8 and then installed Win 10 and now Win 11. I don't expect perfection in any new attempt at technology. I have no issues or complaints with the growing pains of MS versions of Windows. Mostly, it has been a learning and joyful experience. Computers and operating systems are not like toasters. They have always been and will continue to be a learning experience.

My first computer was a used one I bought from a colleague - $500 for the computer, monitor and printer. I had no clue. I'd call him every night for tutoring. At times it was very frustrating, but I was determined to learn. I did and am still continuing to learn.

My experience and my opinion(s).

It's been eight years since I built my Big Red computer. Occasionally, when I turn it on, it goes to a black screen. Pushing the restart button usually gets it to boot. Reinstalling Win10 might be a good idea after eight years, but I hate the thought of reinstalling everything - and uninstalling some programs so I don't run up against an installation limit.

Suppose I install Win11. Would that give me a clean copy of Windows and avoid and start-up issues? Would it be like a clean installation of Win10?

If Big Red is 8 yrs. old, you may not be able to upgrade to Win 11. Run a MS (Health Check) compatibility test:
Press the Windows logo key + S or select Search.
Type PC Health Check, and select PC Health Check from the list of results.
Click on Check now.

You might be able to "extend" Win 10 coverage. MS has not "yet" determined the cost. Upgrading a corrupted Win 10 to Win 11 is not only not doable, it is certainly not advisable. I had a corrupted Win 11 installation - did not know the cause. My computer shop fixed it for $80. I still had to reload programs. It did not take long - probably a few hours- using my downloads folder for installation files. I suspect you have CD's?

You may want to do this. Not difficult:
Open the Command Prompt as an administrator.
Type the following command and press Enter: sfc /scannow
Then run the Deployment Imaging Service and Management Tool (DISM) with this command: DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
These tools will check and repair system files.

Good luck!!

Thanks for posting, bobbyjohn! I did get all of them, but you might go back about another 15 - 20 years. For example:"Who knows what evil lurks in the _________________?"

Mark, there are voices and then there are VOICES!! Let's just hope new VOICES continue to emerge and become appreciated.

Opera, though, reminds me of the time when I worked at the Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas and took my son, who was about 12, to a symphony. They were playing two pieces by Respighi, the last being the Pines of Rome. The fourth movement is the Pines of the Appian Way and at the end it pictures Roman legions returning victoriously from battle marching down the Appian Way with drums beating loudly. A great climax. I leaned over and said to my son, "isn't that great?" And in what I remember as a truth that could only be spoken by youth he replied, "yeah, but it took a long time." I will say, in that great hall it sounded fantastic. In opera, too, sometimes the great parts "take a long time."

I’ll be talking my 3 Grandchildren(ages 19, 22 and 24) to NJ Performing Arts Center to hear Samara Joy in late June. I was pleasantly surprised they all accepted the invite. I’m excited!

Thanks for real music Mark! I remember when PBS first broadcast the Three Tenors and I was riveted. I count myself lucky to have lived in a generation that has seen so many great bands, singers and successes. My parents introduced me to Big Band 40's music and Country Western music of the 50's. Having grown up in the 60's everything from Elvis to the Beatles the list is endless. Cheers.
