Great interpretive image
I feel odd that the father would want an image reminding me of my daughter demise

I don’t use a filter I have an Olympus Pen-f converted to 750nm. That allows me to shoot hand held at reasonable shutter speeds

Once here on UHH someone told me that I must not love my photos because my camera had only one card slot and I couldn’t back up the photos on another card.
Even now I use the second slot for overflow and not backup.
A second card slot is nice, but I don’t think it’s a must. Like bsprague said a spare card (and battery) in the pocket is no problem.
Before digital, film cameras could only hold one roll at a time—no backup.

Mac apparently you are fortunate enough never to have a failed card

For the present and near future, my 2 cents, camera manufacturers focused on better glass not that the sensor is out performing the lenses. I think camera manufacturers are going to be adding more “AI” in body like the Olympus bodies. With in body focus stacking with a compiled image, built in perspective control so buildings don’t fall over, live composit used for building images at night, so much more. Info for those whom do not know of Olympus capabilities.

I would thing the micro cards could not be as fast as standard add to that another set of contacts personally I wouldn’t use them

Ok so I own Sony gear
I’ve never had a problem with the mounts camera or lens
I own A1 and A6600 lenses including the 90 and the 200-600mm
Sony and other manufacturers know the mounts hold up well under normal circumstances

Go to a brick and mortar store hold some different cameras for your self see what feels good where are the buttons and dials
Be careful your going to be told buy this or that or save big and get this…..
go on line and look at some YouTube
Go online and look at some reviews
In any case best scenario everyone has an opinion or agenda (sales ppl get commission)
Assuming your starting from ground zero do your homework it’s an expensive experiment if you don’t like what you paid for and it just sits in the closet
All of that said
I would always steer a nube to mirrorless, no reason to purchase out dated equipment
There’s nothing wrong with crop sensor (not full frame) many great gear out there
If you’re an older adult like me nothing wrong with 4/3 equipment lighter usually less expensive
Good luck and welcome to the club

Agreed a bit dark I’d do a couple things
1-adjust brightness
2-clone the road gravel out
3-add catch light in the eye
Nice image

As a Sony shooter reading this thread, in camera affects jpeg (I think all cameras affect jpegs) while raw remains unaffected unless the raw is processed using Sony software settings that allow the raw to process with the camera settings. Interesting Ive “played” around with custom capture and processed the jpegs thanks. I’ll have to install the Sony software and give it a go.
