Love the artistic arrangement...and the Sesame Street reference.

I was thinking the two tombstones and the girl went hand in hand in hand. The front tombstone describes who he was to her...and the other perhaps the act. (and again....I just may be reading too much into it).

Really like the shot...but have to note my poor wife and kids have had to wake up to the song Alice's Restaurant every Thanksgiving morning for over 35 years now...and it will go on. Thanks for the memories!

Bobby...without doubt, my favorite photo you've shared with us to date. Acknowledging the model is very lovely, I feel the immediate need to just simply share a park bench with her and listen to her story. (emotional impact: 1000%).

Russ...I agree with the major consensus here...please don't stop your Dark Portrait practice. I find myself looking longer at those posts than any others...I am simply awed by the quality of your efforts.

I have to replace my wired Logitech mouse, and I was wondering if any of you had recommendations for a new one. Although I like the idea of wireless, I'm not crazy about changing batteries and having to turn it on and off. Still, I will keep an open mind.

I don't play games, so I don't need a super mouse (Mighty Mouse? :D)

My favorite mouse is the Microsoft Wireless optical 2000. It's fits nicely for both left and right hand usage...and I do use it both ways to try avoiding carpel issues. I also recently purchased a Bamboo Wacom...which I am trying to get used to.

Dano...was wondering what speedlite's you use with this trigger...and do they need a 'receiver' to function.
(can you tell I'm pretty new at this?)
I am looking for a way to use speedlites off camera with my canon t3i...without having to use the camera flash.

Thanx for any help!

Being a 'still newby' myself, without a web-site, and shy about sharing my photos....I must admit to awed by your site....very well done...thought out...and nice photos too!

Hello Everyone

I am biting the bullet today. I have been working on a website. It is a free Weebly site with a domain name I got from GoDaddy. I got my first DSLR about 5 years ago and have no experience with a film SLR. I still feel pretty new to this type of photography.

Anyway, I need input from those of you who have websites and have been photographing for years. I have seen some of your sites with your wonderful photographs. I feel hesitant to share my work. I am proud of my progress, but I have so very far to go.

My husband is the one who encouraged me to create the site. I don’t really expect to make sales form the site, but I want it to look as professional as possible.

Input! I need suggestions on how to make the free site better. I don't plan to move to a paid site any time soon. I also welcome input on my photography.

Thanks,
Cheryl

Maryann....I think I would have started singing out loud before leaving that group...and believe me...nobody with any sensibilities at all wants to hear that!

But silent mode is only if you're shooting in Live View (at least that's the way I read it). I have a real problem with that little screen - especially in the Arizona sun. And I can get a bit shaky, too, so the viewfinder is the way to go for me since I can stabilize with my elbows.

Oh, well ... Clyde will just make some noise and maybe next time I'll smack some gum, too.

I like to get lots of people to post a photo of their photography workspace. Maybe if I get enough I could hold a vote via pm's on who has the 1. Messiest 2. Coolest 3. Most unique 4. Techie Deluxe(lots of cool technical stuff)

Mine isn't any of those, but it's cozy and I love it. :)

You may be right. Yes, I agree it is confusing, but that is not the fault of the words. I put "Leaning Curve" in the same category with "bokeh," parroted buzzwords used without understanding the meaning/usage. I like using "shallow learning curve" just to confuse people. :-)

Perhaps we should be discussing 'educational slope' rather than learning curve....but then, I suppose we'd have the same issue to deal with.

Shallow learning curve. A steep curve means it is easy. Just because everyone gets it wrong does not change the definition.

Altho I lean heavily toward the Photo side of this coin, I was truly impressed with the video linked below. Interested in hearing other opinions on the choice, as well as the video itself.

Can anyone suggest any San Diego & Carlsbad photo ops?

Planning to do San Diego Zoo/Safari Park, Legoland, Seaworld, etc.

Any good places at the Torrey Pines park? I heard there is a spot where you can watch hang gliders launching. Any place where you can see marine birds and seals, etc..

Balboa Park is a 'must do' for photo buff's. You can easily spent a couple days there.
