I think sometimes we can get so involved with getting just the right photo we miss out on the fun side of nature photography. I spotted some birds along the road at Funks Grove, IL. Turned out to be a white crowned sparrow and a magnolia warbler. Did I have my top camera and lens with me? No, all I had was what I call my car camera the R100 with the 55-210mm lens. I used it to get a few photos of the birds, and realized that instead of concentrating on getting a great shot, I was just having fun using my car camera! Did need to give the images a bump with Topaz, but it was overall just a fun time for a few moments of photography.

Why did this ruin your day? It made mine!

I should add, for almost 2 years now I have been suffering from hip and back severe pain. What little photography I have been able to do has mostly been from my car. So, yesterday was special for me, as well as being a first for this species of warbler.

Nice capture. A little soft but worth your time and effort.

A good catch! BTW, retired CPO was being sarcastic about the previous post whining about the shot not being in the "birds" sub-gallery. The prior poster was forced to look at a bird without a trigger warning.

Nice shot, I too have an older model Bridge Camera in each family car for "just in case". They came off the $20 clearance table at Good Will and I picked the newest models that had no signs of wear.
Now, I haven't used them yet because I haven't forgotten my camera bag plus a small Panasonic ZS6 I bought at Costco years ago lives in my shirt (I like two pocket shirts.) or jacket pocket 24/7. But one day I might take off running late and not put on my jacket.

Sarcasm, Zooman! I really get tired of seeing folks give everyone a hard time for posting in the "wrong" section.

Great shot! It is true-the best camera is the one you have with you.
