Here is one from several years ago. I know the safety should be on or the hammer down.

The hammer should be down soon. Taking a picture doesn't hurt it (or endanger anyone), but leaving it back does weaken the spring. Nice gun, by the way. Now wait for the complaints about guns.

Cocked, but unlocked. Ready for action. I have three various 1911 models.

I have one just like that. Remington was, once upon a time, the second most prolific producer of Model 1911s behind Colt. Right after the Spanish-American War they answered the government's call, put typewriter production on standby, and started cranking out Model 1911s, thousands of them!

I think you're thinking of Remington Rand the typewriter company. They were the largest producer of 1911 a1s during World War II surpassing Colt singer Union switch and signal and all the others. Remington made some during World War I.

My favorite is my Wilson, but who can afford shooting.45ACP these days? Not I!

My favorite is the Springfield "loaded" model 1911.

Reload, less than 10 cents a round.

I did back in the day. Now, with our kids on their own, we’ve downsized to an apartment. No room for reloading.

Pretty, used to carry in my store, made some nervous being cocked and locked. Heavy belt and holsters needed .
