This year’s fox kits came with some drama and now mystery. I sighted an adult and kit near an old den site on the 17th of April. A few days later I discovered the carcass of an adult fox near the den. It had probably been killed by a coyote. It was a few more days before I spotted the other adult and later the kits near the den. I was able to get some shots of them and one obscured shot of the family together. It has been over a week and I have not sighted the kits since. Although I have seen the adult. I hope the kits have survived but with the advent of coyotes in central NJ I have my doubts.

Nice photos. I only usually see them on the side of the road or near man-made objects.
