Does anyone own this printer? I recently just installed an empty OEM modified Canon Pro 100 CLI 42 ink cartridge that I filled with Precision Ink in my Pro 100. I followed Jose’s instructions and reset the chip and the printer accepted the cartridge. Couldn’t be happier! Can’t do this with the new Canon Pro 200. Canon got smart.

I also own a Pro-100 printer. I tried third party inks that provided a lot of cost saving but found the quality of the prints was not great, especially monochrome. I switched back to Canon ink and put up with the higher cost for the better quality. Obviously, I didn't try every possible alternate and your experience may not match mine, so good luck. If you are getting the results you want then GREAT!

Volume printing requires cost management. I use my Pro-100 to make full sized prints a couple times a month. Part of why it works is that the Canon ink doesn't clog. Prints end up costing about $5 each. Even if cheap ink cut the cost by a half, I would only save $5.

I think if I was doing volume printing, I would be looking at the Epson EcoTank Photo ET-8550.

I own one & every now & then think about the refilling thing. Mine has to be about 7-8 years old now & I wonder how much longer before the waste tank fills up. Jose says not worth the hassle of trying to replace.

I have two Pro 100's. One runs OEM ink, and the other runs Precision Color Ink. I also have a Canon Pro 1000, and am currently using Precision Color Ink refills of OEM ink (they could only replicate half the ink, so I just use OEM ink but with their refill kits).

Is there a specific question, or are you just asking.

I have that printer, the reason they sold it at a low price was because the "Canon Ink" was very expensive. There it sits, in its box, never used. I could not pass up that bargain... perhaps it is time to sell it... at 88 my photography has slowed down.

Yes it's time for you to sell it as the Pro 100 now demands a high price. You probably bought it for $100 and you can see now how much Amazon wants for it

Wow! This printer is Impossible to buy new! It’s So Desirable because you can refill the ink cartridges with Precision Colors Ink!! The newer Canon Pro 200 Does Not allow you to do that. You can only use OEM Canon ink….Expensive! I’d sell it at a Big Profit!

Sorry to hear about your age.
I'm now 85 and due to a great wife for 58 years now, I'm still going strong.
I like my photography and now just going to local events with my Sony a7R5 I'm having a great time locally.
We have been on many cruises to the Caribbean Islands in the past and I still keep shooting to enjoy the pictures that I get.

I have a Pro-100 but only use Canon Ink cartridges.

Not really. Was just asking if anyone has refilled the Pro 100 with aftermarket ink. Could you tell the difference between OEM and Precision Colors? I’m Very Happy with Precision Colors until I spilled a bottle on my deck LOL! Does Not clean up easily and I was Blue for days!

Pro 200 ink is less expensive, and it uses less of it. I have a pro 100 I would sell.

I toyed with 3rd party ink for my 100 but decided that I know my profiles work for many papers and I know the longevity of my prints. Just not enough savings to make it worthwhile.

I am using LD Products Ink Cartridges in my Pro 100.
I have been satisfied with the results that I'm getting.
I also have another one still in the box as a backup.
